Lions is a community service organisation! People join Lions because they want to user their intellect, creativity, commitment and enthusiasm to get things done.  This is where you can find out about the sorts of projects that your local Lions Club is doing.  Like what you see on the list below?  Then get involved!

 



The Lions Club of Seymour Goulburn in association with the Seymour Salvation Army operate a Soup Kitchen every Wednesday evening between 6 & 7 pm at the Salvation Army Hall in Victoria Street Seymour. Come along & enjoy some home-made soup, have a chat & enjoy the copmany.

 

This annual market is held in the beautiful surrounding of Goulburn Park beside Goulburn River on the Monday, of the long weekend in March. Market stalls include plants, clothes, household items, children's toys and lots more. Stay for lunch and enjoy a BBQ, hot potatoes, beef rolls and other food options Entertainment includes a show and shine car display, music, petting zoo, balloon artist and carnival rides.

Oaks Day Luncheon at Seymour Bowling Club has no races, but fashions galore and lots of ways to contribute funds for local projects. 



Youth projects include Youth of the Year Quest, local school scholarships and RACV Energy Breakthrough support to build vehicles.



Lions Link is a joint project with Seymour Police to provide weekly phone contact with isolated aged in the local community. The program was awarded a Certificate of Merit in the 2004 Crime Prevention Awards for its contribution to crime prevention and safety and well-being of the older members of our community.



Lions Eye Health Program LEHP is a community education program to raise awareness of the need for regular comprehensive eye examinations to prevent blindness. Two of our members are involved in the National LEHP Committee.



We recycle used postage stamps to raise funds for the Australian Children's Mobility Foundation, just one of the many Lions projects we have. We also collect used eyeglasses for the Lions Recycle for Sight program. Christmas activities include providing hampers to the clients of local social welfare agencies and a Christmas Community Luncheon.
